The Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) on June 18, 2026, issued a public notice inviting Determination of Generic Tariff on a levelized basis for Small Hydro Projects of 5 MW to 25 MW for the Second Year of the Control Period, i.e., FY 2026-27.
The following has been stated:
• It has issued a proposal for determining the generic levelized tariff for Small Hydro Projects (SHPs) with capacities between 5 MW and 25 MW for FY 2026–27.
• The Commission noted the potential development of new small hydro projects in Meghalaya and has therefore initiated the tariff determination process. The existing regulations specify normative capital costs for various renewable energy technologies, including small hydro, biomass, biogas, cogeneration, biomass gasifiers, and municipal solid waste-based power projects, for the first year of the control period (FY 2025–26).
• MSERC has uploaded the tariff proposal on its website and invited comments, suggestions, and objections from stakeholders. Interested parties may submit their views to the Commission on or before July 3, 2026, either through email or by filing submissions with the Commission’s office in Shillong.
